Meeting Minutes

May 23, 2006

 

Pat D. opened the meeting by welcoming everyone. 

 

Meeting minutes from April 25, 2006 were discussed.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

1).  Pat distributed a copy of the LOH Mission Statement for approval from those present.  The LOH Mission Statement reads:

 

Ÿ       To encourage solo lady riders and lady passengers to ride and promote the feeling of freedom and the Harley experience;

Ÿ       To Promote a comfortable environment in which solo lady riders and lady passengers can feel like they are of equal value to the chapter;

Ÿ       To encourage men to be supportive of women riders and passengers so they may both feel comfortable helping and encouraging lady riders;

Ÿ       To instill a sense of Camaraderie, Fellowship, Learning and Fun.

 

2).  A women’s ride to visit the “Jewelry Lady” will be held on Sunday, June 25.  LOH members should meet at Utica HD at 12:00PM.  It is approximately a 1-hour ride to the jewelry lady’s house.  Ride captain will be Dyann S.

 

3).  Question’s arose regarding members of LOH organizing rides limited to women.  Several members expressed interest in planning “women only rides”.  A membership list of those present was made and will be distributed at the next meeting.  Members are encouraged to contact each other and arrange a ride.

 

4).  Peggy discussed first aid training specific to a motorcycle accident.  According to Enthusiast Magazine there are organizations that will provide training.  Peggy will obtain additional information.

 

 

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

1).  May 25 Bike Night:

 

LOH will set up a table to provide information and flyers to women riders who are not aware of the LOH.  LOH members are asked to be at Utica HD for set up by 5:30PM.

 

Pat will see if Steve will provide badges with name and log for those working the table.  Pat will also provide flyers and LOH banner.

 

LOH members will sell raffle tickets for a Breast cancer Bracelet valued at $45.00 from the “jewelry lady” at Utica HD Bike Nights through July 13th.  Tickets will be $1.00 each and Pat will provide them.  The drawing for the bracelet will be held on the July 13th Bike Night.  Proceeds will benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Ride on July 16th.

 

Lesley G. asked that LOH members also help sell Chapter 50-50 raffle tickets at Bike Night for the Pediatric Brain Tumor ride.

 

2).  June 8 Bike Night:

 

LOH Bake Sale will be held on June 8.  LOH members are asked to bring bake goods to Utica HD by 5:30PM.  Donna C.  will purchase a Tomato Pie for sale.  Debbie will provide plates and utensils.  For further information, contact Sue W.

 

LOH table and the sale of raffle tickets will continue at each Utica HD Bike Night.

 

3).  Nursing Home Rides

 

Ginny reminded LOH members to participate in the Nursing Home rides.  See the schedule on the board at Utica hd.

 

4).  Chicken Barbeque

 

Lesley G.  reminded LOH members of the need for participation at the Chapter’s Chicken Barbeque on June 3.

 

5).  Meeting Dates:

 

The LAST Tuesday of each month was finalized as the official meeting date for LOH at Utica HD.  Next meeting will be on June 27th at 6:30PM.
