Pat D. opened the meeting by welcoming everyone.

Meeting minutes from June were read (no meeting in July)

NEW BUSINESS:

1). Fund raiser ideas: Discussion centered on the next LOH fundraiser.

Suggestions Included:

A). A Chinese Auction at the HOG Christmas Party - This was considered a good idea, however after much discussion, it was determined that there were so many other raffles the night of the Christmas Party that individuals may be reluctant to spend $10.00 for the Chinese Auction. This idea was tabled and may be considered for another event.

B). Raffle another Breast Cancer Fund Bracelet - This was a successful fundraiser for the Pediatric Brain Cancer Foundation for LOH this summer. Although successful, it was primarily directed to females and therefore it was decided to consider raffling something that may appeal to a broader audience.

C). Raffle a basket of items for a motorcycle such as cleaning materials, microfiber clothes, BOM, Liquid Glass, Harley cleaning supplies donated by Utica HD,etc.. This idea was well received. Pat has a large basket and will begin obtaining supplies for the basket. Tickets will go on sale at the next HOG meeting and at various events from now until Christmas when the winning raffle ticket will be pulled. Gift certificates from various businesses will also be requested to be included in the basket.

2). Progressive Dinner for next riding season- possibly in the summer. Could also be a fundraiser possibility.

OLD BUSINESS:

1). LOH rides and membership: Lesley mentioned that several women would be interested in LOH if we held more rides for LOH members. Since we are near the end of the riding season, it was decided that time did not permit scheduling any rides for the remainder of the season. However, LOH will make an effort to schedule rides for the 2007 riding season.

2). A suggestion was made to change the LOH meetings from Utica HD to dinner meetings at various restaurants. LOH members could then ride to the dinner location. For those members who ride with their husbands, men would be permitted to attend although they would have to sit at another table in the restaurant so that LOH members can have their dinner meeting. All present felt this was a good idea and would encourage other women to participate. It was decided to change the next LOH meeting on September 26^th from Utica HD to a dinner meeting at Mario’s in Oriskany Falls at 6:30PM. Lesley will make reservations for the group. Pat will post the change on the web site.
